Stimulus package for Kentucky horse racing industry

Kentucky's horse racing industry is getting its very own stimulus package. Gov. Steve Beshear is proposing to allow video gambling in the state, with the majority of the revenues going to the racing tracks.

The Kentucky Lottery Corp. will oversee video slot machines to be positioned exclusively at race tracks in the state under the plan Beshear released Tuesday.

"Kentucky's signature horse racing industry is in a state of crisis," Beshear said. "My proposal will help level the playing field for Kentucky's horse industry."
