October 13, 2011 - New Poker Network Management Board Established by Microgaming
Microgaming, the leading software giant, has established a new Network Management Board in order to show its commitment to licensees on its poker network.
The new Network Management Board will be responsible for overseeing the operation and development of the Microgaming Poker Network and compromise representatives of the primary licensees on Microgaming's online poker room platform.
Microgaming will also have one of its own representatives present on the board which will be chaired by someone sourced from the industry.
Microgaming issued a statement saying that the operators and Microgaming will share key votes on key decisions with proportional shares determined by a formula agreed by the voting members of the Network Management Board. The newly created board will be advised by experts from the industry on matters ranging from player perspective to long term revenue potential and ecology.
The statement from Microgaming also read that the Network Management Board members will at first determine the criteria for its membership to the Network Management Board and that the Chairman and industry experts will be non-voting members.
The new board will have varied responsibilities that include the creation of a roadmap to chart possible development and the establishment of policies regarding marketing and rake-back at Microgaming online poker sites.
Lydia Melton, Head of Network Games for Microgaming, stated that Poker is a not an easy industry to be in and that when operators are not in control of their own destinies it heightens difficulties. She added that the idea is to stop this from happening and to change the way its network operates compared to others.
